The uses and benefits derived from propane gas are too numerous to list here. However, we can tell you a few facts and give you a few figures to point out just how valuable an energy source propane is in and around your home, farm or recreational vehicle.

  • It could cost twice as much in energy bills if you have an electric stove, water heater, dryer and furnace than it would if you used propane, according to a 1999 U.S. Dept. of Energy report.
  • Propane furnaces last an average of 8 years longer than an electric heat pump and will heat your home more consistenly throughout, all saving you on repair and overall heating costs.
  • Propane water heaters can cost about $10 less per month to operate than comparable electric water heaters and will heat twice as much water in an hour because of a shorter recovery time when in use.
  • Propane space heaters are an affordable option when heating small spaces like a garage or workshop.
  • The 2000 Olympic Games torch burned a mix of propane and butane, which provides a lower emission and better luminosity and consumes less fuel.
