New Jersey Propane Gas Association Events

The Propane Industry will celebrate its 100th anniversary in May 2012. Keep watch for information on celebrating this milestone at the next Propane Connections Open Conference as the time draws nearer.

Robert B. (Bob) Nicholson, Chairman of the Propane Heritage Preservation group affiliated with The Ancient Gassers, announced the approaching 100th anniversary of the propane industry (May 2012) and the development of a book on the history of the propane industry – the first 100 years. He encouraged members at the NJPGA annual meeting on June 11 to get involved either through marketing efforts to promote the anniversary or by gathering information that can be used in the book. Mr. Nicholson noted that, based on the present economy, advertising and promotional activities are likely to be substantially reduced in coming years. “Because of this uncertainty,” he says, “it is imperative that NPGA, PERC and marketers keep the name of propane in the forefront of the public’s mind, so that when the economy does gain momentum, propane will be their first energy choice.” For more information on how you can get involved, visit www.ancientgassers.org, or contact Bob Nicholson at 973-729-0100.
